Our home for the retreat is the beautiful Relais La Placa, an elegant early 20th-century Art Nouveau villa nestled in the heart of Sicily's enchanting Alcantara Valley.

Surrounded by lush Mediterranean nature and the timeless beauty of the Sicilian countryside, this historic aristocratic residence offers a unique atmosphere of peace, warmth and authentic hospitality. It is a place where you can truly slow down, reconnect and immerse yourself in the rhythms of nature.

The villa's elegant interiors blend historic charm with refined comfort, while its spacious gardens, shaded terraces and beautiful swimming pool create the perfect setting to relax between practices, enjoy meaningful conversations or simply unwind beneath the Sicilian sun.

As the day gently fades into evening, Relais La Placa becomes even more magical. Picture yourself enjoying an aperitivo by the pool, sharing delicious Sicilian dinners under the stars, and embracing the peaceful atmosphere of this extraordinary place.

Ideally located at the foot of Mount Etna, between the mystical Alcantara Gorges and the ancient megalithic plateau of Argimusco—often called the "Sicilian Stonehenge"—the villa is the perfect base from which to explore some of Sicily's most breathtaking landscapes, charming villages and hidden treasures.Relais La Placa is an authentic and welcoming casa—a place to arrive, slow down and feel held by the landscape.

On three evenings, dinner is shared together at the casa, where dishes are rooted in tradition, simplicity and care.

From garden to table, every meal reflects the richness and generosity of Sicilian living.

The remaining evenings are yours to explore at your own pace.

Meals are shared around the table—slow, warm and full of connection—where conversation flows easily and time seems to soften.

Our home for the retreat is the beautiful Relais La Placa, an elegant early 20th-century Art Nouveau villa nestled in the heart of Sicily's enchanting Alcantara Valley.

Choose from our beautifully appointed Superior, Classic, or Single rooms, each thoughtfully designed to offer comfort, tranquillity and authentic Sicilian charm. Whether travelling solo or sharing with a friend, every room provides a peaceful sanctuary to rest, restore and fully embrace the rhythm of your Sicilian retreat.

Superior Room 1 – Ground Floor

A spacious and elegant Superior Room located on the ground floor, with direct access from the main reception area. Filled with natural light through two large windows, this beautifully appointed room retains its original Sicilian floor tiles, adding character and timeless charm.

Featuring a private en-suite bathroom with shower and bidet, this room is an excellent choice for two guests sharing thanks to its generous size and comfortable layout.

Guests also enjoy access to the villa's shared terrace and gardens, complete with outdoor tables and chairs—the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee or unwind in the peaceful surroundings.

Superior Rooms 2 & 3

Located on the upper floor of the villa, Superior Rooms 2 & 3 are bright, elegant and spacious, offering the perfect balance of comfort and authentic Sicilian charm. Each room can be configured as either a Single or Double/Twin room, making them ideal for solo travellers or guests sharing.

The highlight of these rooms is their private access to the villa's expansive panoramic terrace, overlooking the swimming pool and the breathtaking Alcantara Valley. Each room has its own outdoor table and seating area—an idyllic spot to enjoy your morning coffee, read a book, journal, or simply soak up the peace and beauty of the Sicilian countryside.

Classic Room 4

A bright, comfortable and spacious room, Classic Room 4 is perfect for either single occupancy or two guests sharing. Blending authentic Sicilian charm with modern comforts, it provides a peaceful and welcoming space to relax and recharge.

The room features a private en-suite bathroom with shower and bidet and enjoys direct access to the villa's expansive panoramic terrace overlooking the swimming pool and the stunning Alcantara Valley. We are located nearby a charming village on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, is the perfect base for a retreat that blends nature, relaxation, and exploration.

The villa is surrounded by volcanic landscapes, olive groves, and sweeping views of the Ionian Sea, offering both peace and adventure.

While the natural beauty of Mount Etna and Giardini Naxos Beach, Taormina & Catania can be enjoyed at leisure, the area also offers activities for those seeking adventure:

There are a great number of excellent walks in the area and many very good restaurants, including one which is 2 just minutes away by car.

Coming down from the mountain there are many more discoveries to be made, including Taormina, with its world-renowned Graeco-Roman theatre, the vibrant city of Catania & Acireale , the Alcantara Gorge and much more .

Along the coast near Taormina, you’ll find numerous idyllic coves with charming lidos, while the nearby beaches of Fiumefreddo and Marina di Cottone have earned multiple consecutive Blue Flags, a testament to their clean waters and outstanding environmental quality.
