Inspiral Flow live online classes during & after lockdown.

Inspiral Flow Online from Sicily

Inspiral Flow Online from Sicily

My Thoughts

Since lockdown I have been teaching Inspiral Flow yoga-pilates and Garuda group and 1:1 classes live online weekly, I have found live online classes to be very effective both physically and emotionally.

Teaching online has made me more of an astute and creative teacher, having to assist orally & practically the students, with no hands on guidance, demonstrating each movement with maximum clarity, encouraging the students to embody the practice & to feel the movements from within.

Teaching online has given both my clients and I the unique chance to remain united and now that I have moved to my homeland Sicily to carry on an intimate virtual retreat from wherever we have moved after lockdown or are going to go.

My clients have been incredibly happy to carry on practicing at home, garden, terrace as they could attend classes during lockdown and after, without having to travel to and from the venue and most importantly without having to be exposed to the risk of infection during uncertain times such as these.

I have noticed a great improvement, freedom and growth in each one of my clients, I could sense they were, and are, more focus and in-tuned to their body-breath, rhythm and flow.

Moving with a sense of ease and able to attend more classes than usual after or before home working.

It is the immense freedom of teaching InSpiral yoga & pilates Garuda online that has been most joyful & kept us all fit and sane during this long lockdown.

Because of not having to depend on studios and centres timetable & policy,my online class schedule has taken a more flexible form, modified according to the preferences of the attendees & has brought a strong sense of community to the classes

It has given us the freedom to connect with friends that have moved out of London to other countries such as France, Spain , Italy. Japan and now Australia .

To carry on classes in the privacy of our homes 🏡 with my regular Londoners.

Studios are reopening in Uk on the 24th of July, things will be very different for both teachers and clients, 2 meters apart matts, no hands on corrections allowed, ventilation of studios required, clients will have to bring their own matts and equipment, they will not be able to use changing rooms…….

I am wondering if we are ready for this? or is it all too soon?

Please share with me your thoughts and desires, as I am sure we can arrive to some sort of compromise.

Thanks to all of you beautiful people for attending & sharing your love and energy with me.

Please give me your feedback on how do the Online Inspiral Live classes have worked for you and if you would like to carry on online during this uncertain time that we are all living.

Testimonials

Restarting Laura's online classes after the initial break of the lockdown was like starting to breathe again. After the darkness of the first couple of weeks, having Laura's classes back was like a part of normality had come back into my days. The classes gave me not only the benefit I have always had in Laura's precise and balanced exercises, but in this occasion something more, a sense of equilibrium, a sense that the body was not constrained by the limits of the situation we were living, both physical and emotional, but even in the small space of a room, it started to give me my air again, my inner space, my freedom, my clarity of mind. A sense of expansion started to pervade my body again, a re-appropriation of space and parts of me that had been suspended and inhibited by the lockdown. The online classes are something I have now treasured for almost 4 months, and that I hope will continue, even when I am travelling, when I am away on holiday, when I am visiting friends and I am not in London. We have discovered a way to be connected with the spiral flow of energy that Laura can give us from wherever we are, and it's something to be treasured. Thanks Laura!

My mind and body will never thank you enough for those online classes in this super weird particular historic moment , this amazing indescribable reconnected friendship, and most of it this powerful teaching without touching. Laura, you’re more than a superstar>

I would say I have really enjoyed lockdown classes because I ha e been able to participate in them more regularly; they helped give me a structure to my time and week which was important especially early on when we didn’t really know what was going to happen; I can see you better and am more confident because I  on my own and have things to grab onto if I lose my balance; I am not so embarrassed being still very much a beginner, but also, even with plates in my left arm and leg, I can go at my own pace and if I can’t do a move (weak wrists despite no plates!) I can do a semblance of it; I feel much better in myself, my shoulders are much less frozen into a hunched position and finally my posture has improved!(too bad my parents are not around to see it). I also find it really good for my mental health as someone who has had 4 major episodes of depression in their life, it has reduced my anxiety levels and made me a much calmer and more relaxed person who was able to ‘enjoy’ the lockdown and feel much more in touch with nature, exploring local parks and listening to birdsong in my own garden!

Thank you thank you thank you!

I was dubious at first and not expecting to really enjoy the classes online, imagining the technology wouldn't work properly and it would feel distant and isolating,  but I have really been enjoying the sessions, its nice to be at home in a private comfortable space whilst connecting online with the group which feels very intimate and spiritual. Generally the sound and vision is good and I especially like the convenience of attending from home. However I don't want to get too used to it and worry that I will become institutionalised and fear going out to a real class or rejoining the human race, so I do hope we can have future physical classes again soon, but I think there is a place for online classes after lockdown as an alternative experience.
